At the very start I read the word “tie”, I remember the song
“Blessed be the tie that binds
Our hearts in Christian love;
The fellowship of kindred minds
Is like to that above. ”
Wikipedia mentioned that John Fawcett was the one who wrote the song in 177O’s and it became famous in Christian hymnbooks. Fawcett became too down-to-earth to share the love of God to his congregation at Wainsgate in Northern England. A time came when he was offered a satisfying income and flock in London, he even decided to go, but “it’s the tie that binds” that he remain at Wainsgate. Fawcett did a great labor in the Lord, his story is an encouragement to every believer and for every leader to become good stewardship of the way to the Kingdom of God.
For Christians, the tie brings so much importance. It is between a believer and God. Can you imagine a life without tie with God on the cross, for a sinner like you and me? What is that to me to wear “tie” every moment of the day? This shows the Father’s care for you and me. Tie binds between God, you and me from the moment He died on the cross to show His love and with Him, and nothing is impossible.
Church goers have bibles as “tie” that teaches to obey every word written in it. How about you and me? Are we wearing a tie that binds between you and Jesus? Are we knit together in Him? If not, the time is now to go, get the tie that binds between you and God. In Judges 20:11 stated that “so all the men of Israel were gathered against the city, knit together as one man. As brethren in Christ we are tied in love as Colossians 2:2-“that their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love.”
As God’s chosen people let us continue to build the spirit of tying one another. Why “tie” wears in the neck? Christians has to be identified differently from the others. The history said that tie as an accessory of clothing affect someone’s feeling either love or hate is within him. The fashion is said to have started from 221 BC to present . Our tie nowadays is the Word of God that saves you and me!
