Matthew 26:53
Evil men nor rusty nails
Held Jesus on that cross
For it was love alone that bound Him
When, He came to save the lost
Could He not have asked the Father
And 12 legions He would send?
Of angels, in an instant
Delivered from those men
He came to save the sinner
And by His own free will
He hung upon a tree
The prophecy fulfilled
The Lord of all creation
Stepped down from His throne
And died for you and I
Abandoned, and alone
There was no force in heaven above
Nor demon spawned from hell
Or any army on this earth
Holding Him, against His will
But God so loved the world
That He sent His only son
Who loved us more than life
And died, for EVERY one
