And a little later those who stood by said to Peter again, “Surely you are one of them; for you are a Galilean, and your speech shows it.” Mark 14:70 New King James Version
What does your tongue say about you?
Just as Peters accent gave him away so does the type of language you use in everyday conversations reveal the real you.
Do you claim to be a Christian yet swear like a drunken sailor? What kind of testimony is that for Jesus? Do you claim to be following Christ and yet instead of speaking well of people you viciously gossip about them? Instead of praising people do you stab them in the back at work or at school?
How do you think Jesus feels about this when He hears it?
What kind of testimony are you giving to others with this filthy talk? Do you think they will be encouraged to learn about Christ after hearing your testimony with your trash talk? Be careful, people are listening a lot more than you may realize they are. Parents, this is especially true of you.
Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them. Ephesians 4:29 New Living Translation
Please Jehovah Chanan (God is gracious) fill my heart with Your divine grace that my words may be a sweet and nutritious as honey. I humbly ask this in the name of He who spoke the sweetest words ever Jesus Christ.Amen.
May the sunshine of Jesus’ sweet love bless you today and every day.
