Have pity on me O God,
In keeping with Your mercy;
As I give honor and laud,
Take out the iniquity.
Wash me fully from my guilt,
Cleansing me from all my sin;
Tear down the walls it had built,
Renewing me from within.
I admit that I did change,
With such a rebellious heart;
Have Your Spirit rearrange,
Giving me room to impart.
My sin stays in front of me,
I sinned in thought, word and deed;
I have sinned from what I see,
I have sinned spreading my seed.
I have done evil and harm,
In areas that I seek;
For I turned off Your alarm,
That has told me when You speak.
You are blameless as a judge,
Because You are just and fair;
And You never hold a grudge,
Showing just how much You care.
So You can bring down your wrath,
Because I will understand;
Judgment for leaving the path,
As I stand on sinking sand.
