And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever the Spirit of truth. John 14:16 New International Version
First the Holy Spirit will convict us of our sins.
This will lead to our repenting of sin. When we repent of our sin He will give us power to not do the sin.
For example I used to be the type to want revenge when someone did me wrong. There was a man that was very bad to me and we parted ways. A few years later I saw him advertise his services on a Christian web site. I intended to write a very bad review of him to destroy his service.
The Holy Spirit came and convicted me.
He asked me why I intended to do this.
I tried to reason that is the truth.
He would not let it go.
He asked: “Yes. But why do YOU want to do this?”
I had to confess it was for revenge.
“And what does the Bible say about revenge?” He asked?
“Seek not revenge but leave it in My hands says the Lord.” was my reply.
“So, what are you going to do now?” He again inquired?
“I am not going to send the report.” I surrendered to Him.
Prayer: Thank you Holy Spirit Elohim (Holy Spirit our creator) for creating in me a heart that is open to Your conviction and the wisdom and strength to listen and obey Your guidance. I give thank for this precious blessing in the name of the great convicter Jesus Christ. Amen. May the sweet sunshine of Jesus' precious love bless you today and every day.
