He went away a second time and prayed, “My Father, if it is not possible for this cup to be taken away unless I drink it, may your will be done.” Matthew 26:42 New International Version
Jesus prayed that God would take away His crucifixion. God could have but didn't. We don't always get what we ask for.
We all have our weaknesses.
Look at Paul.
He had a weakness we are not told of but prayed God remove it. Gods reply was that His grace is sufficient enough for him.
I believe it was a bad habit.
Paul was known for being short tempered and stubborn. After all, if he wasn’t stubborn why did he insist on going to Jerusalem TWICE after being warned not to by both fellow believers AND the Holy Spirit? He didn’t listen and got beaten and caused a riot. Think of how difficult that made it for the Christians living there?
God uses our weaknesses like he did Paul to keep us from being big headed.
For me it is smoking. I have tried for years for to stop and have prayed in earnest to have this addiction removed from me. He refuses. This keeps me humble because I know I sin so I am not better than anyone else.
So the next time some holier than thou condemns you for whatever your weakness is you remind them that He did not give Jesus what He asked for.
God can do anything, but that does not mean He will do everything we ask.
Perhaps we pray for a job or a scholarship, broken relationships to be healed and have He will deliver. That does not mean He will.

Do not feel guilty when someone says your faith is not strong enough.
What if a family member has a terminal illness and we pray for them. They end up dying and someone says it was your fault because your faith was not strong enough. Do not believe their lies and give you a guilt trip.
Prayer: Please Father Jireh (God our provider) give me the strength to continue to ask in belief that You love me and will answer some of my prayers. Bless me with the grace to accept Your wise decision when You refuse to answer my prayers. I ask this in the name of he who taught me to pray Jesus Christ. Amen.
May the sweet sunshine of Jesus' precious love bless you today and every day.
