I walked on the same road as you
The familiar lane in Jericho
Visualizing your very presence
As if you were really there besides me.
I stood at the same tree as you
The sycamore tree which Zacchaeus climbed
Seeking you with his whole heart
A glimpse of you to behold for all times.
I climbed the same mountains as you
The mount where you were tempted
The mount where you were transfigured
The mountain of Olives where you prayed.
I came looking for you in the same way
As Mary Magdalene did that Easter morn
As the Centurion came with faith in his heart
As the crowds did to have more of you.
I traveled on the same path as you
The long stretch of Calvary
Recalling every moment of your passion
The sense of belonging in every step of the way.
I stood at the same point as you
The highest point this world has known
The shrine on which you offered your life
Having accomplished your mission in this world.
When I have walked in your footsteps
I can be with you in paradise at last
Then Lord, you will surely know
Your feet had not walked in vain.
The Promised Land
The place where I belong with you
The only place where my heart can be at joy
The destined land, the forever realm.
