Are you in Adam or are you in Christ
You are either in one or the other
Its a matter of faith not rolling a dice
Whether your a spiritual brother.
Our genealogy is important to God
For that determines our race
Not good behaviour or working hard
But whether we accept His grace.
If we are "in Christ" then all His is ours
A benefit of family life
No need to build a Babylon tower
When a husband marries a wife.
When one's behaviour seems to fall short
And one is conscious of sin
You don't change from Christ to Adam's sort
There's no switching out, then in.
Once you become an Abraham star
And you know Jesus Christ by faith
The light of God has dispelled the dark
Your place as a son there is safe.
Our western thinking is different to God
We don't think in terms of seed
We don't think in terms of family blood
We don't think of family trees.
The God of Abe and Zac and Jake
And Levi paid tithes to Mel
Through Abraham's loins for blessing's sake
Shows importance of lineage held.
Whether "in Christ", turns on what you believe
You don't have to be the strongest
If you are Christ's then your Abraham's seed
And heirs according to promise.
