We need our daily drink.
“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5:3 New International Version
Being poor in the spirit means that you need the living waters of the Holy Spirit in our lives just as we need water every day. As we are filled with the Holy Spirit He will guide us on our daily journey to fulfill the chores God has planned for us.
It will not be like Pentecost with fire from Heaven.
More often than not in my life it is a small quiet voice giving me instructions as the day goes along.
That is why it is important to read our Bible every morning and ask God to open our eyes, ears, mind and heart to what He is saying to us. If a verse you read or a sermon you listen to or a song you hear is speaking to you, stop what you are doing and talk with God about it. Sometimes it is best to record it on an mp3 or your mobile phone to keep with you during the day. Then when a circumstance comes up and you remember what God was saying to you previously listen to your recording and it will cause you to remember even more.
That is what I do. I don’t care if people look at me as if I am strange. What is most important to me is the living waters when they are given to me.
Prayer: Please Jehovah Shammah (the Lord is present) fill me with Your sweet living water every day. I humbly ask in the name of the bread of life Jesus Christ. Amen.
