Some call them a nuisance Some say they are just trash Some say it really makes no sense For me to keep such a stash But to me they are so much more Than cardboard boxes for store They are my golden treasure chests And each one holds the very best When my heart yearns within my breast To visit days gone by I take out my golden treasure chest And let happy moments inside For inside these golden chests Are treasures worth more than gold Unlocking memories within my breast As one by one they unfold Pictures of children, family and friends My how we've changed through the years Some have departed but we'll meet again In a land without sorrows or tears My card, why I look at them one by one Oh how they bring a smile to my face Some ffunny, some sentimental, not even one Could I ever throw away Knick-knacks wrapped for safe keeping Given to me by those that I love And yes it's true you may find me weeping As I gaze upon angels, crosses, and doves All to me are treasures Each one rich and rare Given to me by those that I treasure With tender loving care Toss them away like yesterday's news Oh no, I'l leave these for uou Hold fast these memories to your breast In Mama's golden treasure chests
