The serpent is a deceiver
He thinks his lies are a reliever
From the truth that sets you free,
The serpent is subtle
Inspiring your trouble
So that you live from the wrong tree.
He is a snake in the grass
He thinks that you must
Do everything that he says,
He creeps up so slowly
With thoughts that are flowing
So you end up in a mess.
With the power of suggestion
He cuts out your questions
And asks you "has God said ?"
Sugesting God is a liar
And a faulty Messiah
So you end up faithlessly dead.
He speaks to the mind
And gets you inside
Then you co-operate with the wrong
Then gives accusation
Ensuring your agitation
So you lose focus and your song.
