I read your love letter today.
It's amazing how after all these years,
Your words still take my breath away.
They guard my heart,
Against the alluring lips of many suitors.
They promise wealth and fame,
Power and pleasure are their bait.
Sometimes the urge to give in,
Feels overwhelming, only my love for You delivers me.
I have been labeled stupid and naïve,
For believing one day, You will come back for me.
Why shouldn't I believe?
When You laid down your life for me.
When I finally see Your Face,
And You hold me in Your Arms,
My heart will be speechless, my joy, boundless.
Every sacrifice, pain and moment of anticipation
Will be more than worth it.
As we are joined together in holy matrimony,
Living happily ever after will not be a fairy tale,
It will be our reality forever.
