“According to your faith will it be done to you.” Matthew 9:29
Notice that this verse doesn’t say, according to your feelings will it be done to you. The Christian life is about what we believe not about what we feel. Someone once said, “Don’t rely on your feelings they change with every green apple you eat!’
Believing God’s Word is not always as simple as it sounds. First we need to know what it says. The devil is very apt at misquoting Scripture so we need to be sure we know what it says. Eve thought she knew God’s instructions regarding the fruit of the tree in the garden but she actually misquotes God’s instructions by saying, “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, but God did say, You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.” God didn’t tell them they couldn’t touch the fruit. So when Eve touched the fruit and nothing happened she was deceived into thinking that it was all right to eat it.
The Bereans were said to be “of more noble character because they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true” (Acts 17:11).
We too need to be like the Bereans and check out for ourselves what the Scriptures are saying so that our faith is built on truth and not on our feelings.
If you died today, are you absolutely certain that you would go to heaven? You can be! TRUST JESUS NOW
