I often ponder and daydream about the after life and the idea of a new earth. I am comforted by the thoughts of seeing our loved ones again and that we will all be reunited in peace to dwell in God's eternal kingdom-how awesome is this second chance we have been offered at everlasting paradise!
Another question has been floating around my mind about animals-all God's amazing variety and species-beautiful creatures on the earth, in the sky and under the water....and our pets at home-what about 'Tigger' and 'Fluffy'? After all, they become one of the family. Dogs can be so faithful and can be a best and often, only friend for life!
When ( I hope and pray) I reach my 'final destination', will I be aware of those absent? Will it matter?
It has occured to me that perhaps the reason animals don't posess the knowledge and reasoning that we do of right and wrong could be that they did not partake in the origional sin of the tree of knowledge which is why they remain innocent. I find it unfair that animals, in all their innocence and beauty, still under go suffering, physical pain and, for some, much hard labour with (as far as we know) no rewards or eternal promises or compensation. Perhaps 'Joey' and 'Truffles' will return again also to dwell along with us on a perfect earth.
Hey-what about scorpions and wasps? ................
I once had a cat called Dooby who was angry most of the time-I hope she might turn up in a better mood than she was in this life!
