That was the alert posted on the window of the store. Sam’s attention was caught by the statement as he passed by, he looked at it a second time. Certainly he was not interested in the lovely ladies shoes of which the advertisement alert informed, but it seemed to him that the message was for him. “How strange,” he thought.
Sam usually walked to and from his place of work because the parking fee was just out of sight and he would much rather make use of that money purchasing something else. The two mile walk each day had been improving his blood pressure. He often chuckled as he thought, “It makes good cents to walk to work.”
Sam had an established routine, as do most people who work a job five days each week. All of the morning hours were dedicated to getting to work on time, and the evening was given to a quick dinner in front of the television and today was to be no different. This work day had been especially taxing on him mentally and physically.
He prepared his micro-waved Big Man Meat Dinner and seated himself in the most comfortable chair in the world. He flipped the television on and thought, “This is my happy hour.”
The good food, the comfy chair, and the exhaustion of the day contributed to his falling asleep before the evening news had ended. He had slept in the chair way past his usual bed time. In the semi-conscious state of awakening he heard a voice saying, “Don’t wait until midnight, it will be too late then.”
His memory was refocused on the sign in the store, “The offer ends at midnight.”
Altogether awake now and engaged in what he was hearing he recognized that one of the world’s most renowned evangelists was speaking about the urgent need to receive Jesus as Savior before the midnight hour.
“The offer is not extended past midnight when the light of life has been extinguished;” said the evangelist. “Now, this minute, is the time to ask Jesus into your heart so that you may be saved from the coming judgment that will surely come upon all men.” “For it is appointed unto man once to die and after this, the judgment.”
Sam heard what was being said and he realized at that moment that the sign in the window which had seemed to speak to him was indeed speaking to him.
As he continued to listen to the sermon from the evangelist he understood that he must ask Jesus to save him now. He could discern the truth that, “A person never knows when their midnight hour may come.”
This was one offer he did definitely want to take advantage of while the offer was still extended.
Jesus said, “Anyone who comes to Me, I will never turn away.” The Apostle said, “All who call upon the Name of Jesus shall be saved.” Do it now. Just ask Jesus to come into your heart and life and to save you from all judgment; then He will receive you into fellowship with Himself.
THE OFFER ENDS AT MIDNIGHT!
