It is only promised to
Those who will pursue and strive
For His purpose, will and honor -
Those who give up their lives
It is about great vision -
Obtaining His Glory so -
Now bestowed upon one’s spirit;
Of Christ’s promise long ago
Faith is the only way
To strive to win the prize
For it’s not about one’s self -
Says the Lord, our Jesus Christ
It is one’s duty in truth
Witness of Almighty Lord:
To do the deeds be done
As stated in His Word
Defined by Triune God -
Given to one who earns;
Due much pain and sacrifice -
A heart for Christ which burns
Life is a track and test:
Dying to self is to gain -
To seek Him is to run for
The eternal prize ordained
When one reaches Heaven’s life,
Then all heart and spirit know:
Transferred to Heaven’s form
Is one’s prize from Earth below
Philippians 3:14
“I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”
