When I lose my way, in the woods of Life,
Tangled thorns, strife after strife!
Then those Footprints clear my way,
Darkness vanishes, as I pray!
When my eyes are tired and sad,
At the violent visions of a world gone mad!
Then that loving, calming, gaze,
Reassures me of a passing phase!
When my hands are weary and torn,
Carrying hopelessness, night and morn!
Then those Divine, Heavenly arms,
Pick me up, to caress and calm!
When my heart deeply doubts,
And my mind seems in a cloud!
Then I hear my Savior's voice,
Just telling me to rejoice, rejoice, rejoice!
