I can see in your eyes,
You certainly are wise;
But the time of your death,
Wisdom dies at last breath.
Like you I have a brain,
Which is both sound and sane;
I am not inferior,
But neither superior.
I do not know it all,
And sometimes I will fall;
In a memory sink,
Seems to drain when I think.
I am a laughingstock,
Mixing words when I talk
To my neighbors at times,
They think I commit crimes.
But it is not that way,
Since I go not astray;
I go to God in prayer,
And show them that I care.
I have integrity,
Living righteously;
And they have such a nerve,
With a negative curve.
They have an easy life,
With no toils or strife;
And do not understand,
When hitting sinking sand.
But you just wait and see,
It will look up for me;
God does not like a frown,
And turns it upside down.
