We find ourselves bound in chains
Slaves in a faraway land.
The only way to escape this slavery
Is through the desert sand.
To get to the Promised Land
Through the wilderness we must go.
Some days we make lots of progress
And on others the going is slow.
We press on through the wilderness
Even when the going is tough.
We may not have lots of material things
But God gives us just enough.
In the wilderness we face many trials
And we may shed many tears.
Just as the Israelites who were tested
And wandered there for forty years.
Sometimes the path is rugged
And sometimes the hills are steep.
But when the going seems impossible
And the rivers are too deep.
When there’s no way to get around
The river’s swelling tide
God makes a path through the middle
To get us to the other side.
Now that God has taken us through
What keeps us from entering in?
Fear is an excuse we use
And unbelief which is sin.
Therefore we become our own obstacle
From entering the Promised Land.
Don’t just believe IN God
But Believe Him and on His promises stand.
