“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am" ( John 14:1-3 )
One need only read the newspaper, tune in the TV news, or surf the internet , to see that we are now living in a vary pretensions time. A time, growing up, that I never thought I'd see.
Can this period just be passed off, as the fast pace times we are living in, or can it be interrupted as end time prophecy. ( 2 Timothy 3:1-5, 13 )
Just look around you at the civil unrest, the lawlessness, the economy struggles, the political corruption, the restlessness of the populist, the minority rules mind-set and the like. One need only wonder what chaos could be next.
So, how do we live in the "nasty now-and-now" until we get to "glory by-and-by" ?
Jesus, as God in the flesh, understood our situation when He told us not to be fearful or worry. ( 2 Timothy 1:7 ) And above all, not to let our hearts be troubled, as He is with us at all times and He has conquered the world. ( John 16:33)
You see, we need only to pray and continue to seek Gods favor, while we are still in this world, by not bowing to the current world's frame of mind or its evil whims . And above all, don't conform to Satan's trap but seek daily to transform your thoughts by renewing your mind in Christ Jesus. ( Romans 12:2 )
For the scripture clearly tells us that Christ is coming back for us, whether we are asleep ( dead) in Jesus ( 1 Thess 4:13-17) or we are alive at His coming. ( 1 Cor 15:51-52)
Yes, as our initial scripture tells us Christ not only prepared a place for us in glory, but He also someday will return to take us home. Thus, just don't be like some of those in ancient times and dispute the return of Christ. ( 2 Peter 3:3-4 )
Although we are not given the presence of mind to know the exact time of Christ's return ( Matthew 4:26), if we parallel the scriptures with today's current events it can't be long off. For if we believe that the rapture ( catching away of the Christians) will come just prior to the seven year tribulation period, then there is no prophecy need be fulfilled before the rapture. In other words, it's kind of like experiencing Thanksgiving and anticipating Christmas to follow. Around Thanksgiving, or maybe earlier, we start see all the signs of Christmas so we know that Christmas is not far away.
Well, how about you ? Are you ready to go home and to be with Christ. You see, there's a special "crown" for those who love His appearance. ( 1 Timothy 4:8 )
