God at various times in the past generations has engaged the forces of nature to execute some significant assignments on earth. For instance, God at one time or the other, has made use of flood, hailstorm, snows, stars, rain, wind and other elements of nature to carry out His desires on earth. As the sole controller of heaven and earth, God has at His disposal all forces and elements of nature, and makes use of them to accomplish specific tasks as He pleases. Among all elements of nature, the wind is one prominent force God frequently employs to carry out important assignments for His purpose on earth, especially at crucial situations and circumstances.
The wind is an invisible force that is completely out of control of anyone on earth; the wind blows in any direction it chooses and no one can prevent it or re-channel it from its path! From accounts of the scriptures, God can make use of the wind both for positive and destructive purposes. As part of the positive purposes, God can cause the wind to blow to remove barriers or dry up floods before His people. According to Genesis 8: 1, it was the wind that the Almighty God sent to dry up the flood after destruction of the earth so as to quickly prepare the ground for a new beginning for Noah and those who survived the flood together with him. Similarly in Exodus 14:21, it was the wind (east wind) that God sent to drive back the red sea in order to create a way of escape for the children of Israel out of the land of bondage. Pharaoh and his army had concluded it was over for the Israelites because the red sea had shut them in, but at the click of time, the Almighty God showed up with the east wind to open up the red sea for His covenant people. Every barrier and red sea standing on your way of progress and advancement in 2013 shall be removed by the wind in Jesusí name.
Another positive way God can make use of the wind in favour of His people is to cause the wind to bring what they are lacking. In Numbers 11:31, it was the wind God used to deliver abundance of quails meat for the children of Israel when they earnestly desired meat in the wilderness. With God nothing shall be impossible! The children of Israel didnít need to travel for kilometers or hunt about in the wilderness for meat; the Almighty God sent abundance of delicious meat and manna at the command of the wind! If you make seeking God and His interest your priority in 2013, He will cause the wind to blow and bring great blessings in your direction. When God causes the wind to blow in your favour, what others are running after and traveling kilometers to look for, will fall on your laps without sweating!
It is also noteworthy that the wind is a symbolic force that God uses to prepare the way for His divine move on earth. In Acts 2:2-4 the scripture says: ĎAnd suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.í The coming of the Holy Ghost, which the Lord Jesus had earlier spoken of and promised, was heralded and announced by a rushing mighty wind. Why a rushing mighty wind? It appears God was making a statement that just as no obstacle can stand before a rushing mighty wind, no force on earth will be able to stand on the way of those who have been empowered by the Holy Spirit in bringing to fulfillment the counsels of God on earth. John 3:8 says: ĎThe wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.í Just as a rushing mighty wind announced the coming of the Holy Ghost in the early Church, God is also set at this time to prepare the way for His end time move through a rushing mighty wind which will begin to blow across the nations not too far from now.
As much as God makes use of the wind for positive tasks in favour of His people, the wind is also an instrument of war that God can engage against anyone who makes himself or herself Godís enemy. According to Exodus 10:13, it was the wind (east wind), the Almighty God sent to bring armies of destructive locusts as part of the plagues inflicted on the Egyptians in order to crush the proud heart of Pharaoh. At the command of God, the east wind brought hundreds of thousand locusts which ate up all vegetations and increase of Egypt. The best thing that can happen to you is to be on the same side with God because God will not hesitate to engage the wind against those who are against Him and His interests. For those who have vowed to continue as Godís enemies, He may not hesitate to engage the wind to bring in devouring locusts and cankerworms, but for those who turn to Him in genuine repentance, He is able to cause the wind (west wind- Exodus 10:19) to drive away every evil locust and devourer that has devoured their health, business, family, increase and wealth.
Year 2013 is like a bridge that will connect many into the divine move of God, and this is why you must be careful that the blowing wind is not against you. Psalm 104:3 says God rides on the wings of the wind; just as the wind travels unhindered from one end of the earth to the other with great speed, the wind that God will cause to blow will bring speed, accelerated progress, rapid promotions, total recovery and sweatless victory to those who love and serve Him, but will root out every unrepentant sinner and avowed enemies of God. Whether the wind will blow in your favour or against you is determined by where you are standing. If you are on Godís side, safety is guaranteed, but if you are not on Godís side, you are not safe! Are you on Godís side?
