It's the sit awhile
the shoes-off style
the feet-up pose
the anything goes
that slows us down
that smoothes the frown
that sets us free
to simply be.
It's the chit-chat
the you-know-that
It's the mundane
the quaint inane
that forms the glue
makes friendships true
makes family
for me and you.
It's freedom to loose
your Ps and your Qs
to let down your guard
when nothing's too hard
that says we belong
that nothing is wrong
that's ought-to-be
that's sanctuary.
