Over Planning
by Richard Sherrer

A person may plan their trip,
But the Lord directs their stride;
If they make it to the ship,
Being faithful and abide.

In their hearts man plans their course,
But the Lord decides which way,
As man tries to steer the horse,
God can command him to stay.

Even with revelation,
The judgment just might be wrong;
Causing the population,
Their agony to prolong.

For it is no mystery,
What they say about lose lips;
Looking back through history,
How they have been sinking ships.

Wrongdoing is disgusting,
To a king or president;
And the job he is doing,
No one can be confident.

Even words that are sincere,
Some take as a grain of salt;
And the leader could revere,
Turns to a block by default.

Death will come unto his reign,
The only way to bring peace;
To seclude and ease the pain,
So hostilities will cease.
