THANK GOD FOR CHRISTMAS-TIME
God took great pains to tell the story of Jesus' annunciation and birth. He also took great pains telling of Jesus' passion, death, resurrection and ascension into heaven.
The word "Christmas", contains the word "Christ' and "Mas", -the two telling of Jesus' birth, and also the shedding of His blood, without which there is no remission of sins.
We can deplore the trash mixed with Jesus-carols, but we don't stay away from church on Sunday just because of all of the bad going on during the week.
To "throw out the baby with the bath water", by being humbug about Christmas ,is to miss the joy and blessings of the season.
Who knows how many souls have been touched by a Jesus- carol, even though it is mixed with other trash? The Holy Spirit works in our daily lives as we are still in this world of sin.
"Christmas" entails the wonderful nativity and the horror of Jesus'suffering for our sins.
Even though some always try to outlaw "Christmas", remove manger scenes as "Christian" or "non-doctrinal" etc., Christians keep it alive by saying "Merry Christmas" to the scoffers. And those who don't know the story, still "witness" unknowingly.
Thank God for "Christmas-time". The Matthew 2 and Luke 2 stories are mostly known world-wide, expressed differently in other lamguages, but hopefully telling everyone in every country, the Name by which they can be saved.
Thank God for Christmas-time.
