We will celebrate! - but not today, not here.
The fullest praise will only come when time is full and ends.
There is a war, and we're on spiritual rations until that feast.
When we come home, we'll do it then.
Not just with cakes and beer and drums,
But with our holy, forgiven hearts, stripped bare of pain and guilt.
Petrol strips the greasy parts, but Jesus' blood makes clean from sin.
Now purified and eager for our full release,
We slowly dance in darkness broken by some light.
Soon we will break into ecstasy when the fullness comes,
Our Father'll rejoice o 'er us with songs of His forgiveness,
And our Brother, leading us, like David before the Ark.
