The formalities and cermonial part of Christmas is a thing of the past. All that remains of this special holiday is the wrapping paper and left over turkey. However, the spiritual aspect doesn't need to be over. We can have Christmas every day that God grants us the breath of life if we have His spirit in us. Rom. 8:9 "and remember that if anyone doesn't have the Spirit of Christ living in him he is not a Christian at all."
After the resurrection of Jesus in his new, glorifyed body he returned to Heaven so that he could come back to Earth in Spirit to be in all those who believed in the Truth of who his is and what he accomplished on the cross. That would be our redemption and aquittal of sin. Eph. 4:8-9 " The Psalmist tells about this, for he says that when Christ returned triumphantly to heaven after his resurrection and victory over Satan he gave generous gifts to men. Notice that it says he returned to heaven. This means that he had first come down from the heights of heaven, far down to the lowest parts of the earth. The same one who came down is the one who went back up, that he might fill all thngs everywhere with himself, from the very lowest to the very hightest. "
If we have Christs presence in our hearts we have Christmas every day. This special day of the year always inspires a spirit of goodwill, love, family, sharing, giving. This is the same attributes that Christ's presence produces in our lives. Love: I John 4:16 " We know how much God loves us because we have felt his love and because we believe him when he tells us that he loves us dearly. God is love and anyone who lives in love is living with God and God is living in him."
Family: John 1:13 "But to all who received him, he gave the right to become children of God. All they needed to do was to trust him to save them."
Giving: Passing on the good news of the gift of Salvation on to others.
We can have Christmas everyday if we have Christ in us. Its a matter of excercising the faith to believe the Truth of His Word, confessing we need forgiveness of our sins and inviting him into our lives. Rev. 3:20 " Look! I have been standing at the door (of our hearts) and I am constantly knocking. If anyone hears me calling him and opens the door, I will come in and fellowhsip with him and he with me."
If we believe, confess and recieve we can have Christmas or Christ in us every day of the year. Let him have that rightfull place in your heart today!
