You are quiet in your pain
to keep from being a burden.
Your good rest is in the Name
Who comforts when you’re hurting.
You have chosen what is better,
refraining from the bitter.
Finding solace in the Letter,
so inclined, to Him, go thither.
Saddest Beauty, fair and sweet,
you give hope for all;
you have blessed all you meet,
when you heed their call.
Saddest Beauty, be complete,
in the fair and mighty One;
He alone knows well your grief,
shares in it as the holy Son.
You portray everything
filtered through the Father’s good.
Even in sadness you still sing,
even when this life is rude.
You’ve been married to your God;
He alone is your Husband.
In His Word you are awed
in its Truth your heart is drumming.
Saddest Beauty, fair and sweet,
Hope comes for you and all.
Be most blessed when you meet
the One who rightly commands the Call.
Saddest Beauty, be complete;
there’s the One who makes you glad.
He alone buries your grief;
you forget how you’re once sad.
