WHEN YOU WALK WITH THE LORD

When we walk with the Lord
In the light of His Word,
What a glory He sheds on our way;
While we do His good will,
He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.

It is astounding to know and get confirmation that our God ‘exists’!
Every situation and the society around us, tries so hard to convince us in every way….. Otherwise

Shuffle, shuffle, c-r-a-s-h! “Oh bother, what now….hope I did not break that, I have searched everywhere possible in this home……. where could I have placed this thing…….it was right here a moment ago, where could it be?”
“Oh, okay it probably is in the other room; I was there as well”
“It is not here? Where else can I look for this?”
What do I do now? I have looked everywhere possible

"What If it has been packed accidentally with the rubbish and thrown out?" I do hope not!

I looked everywhere, turned over every furniture, dug into every nook and cranny of our home, all to no avail.
This activity went on till very late in the night and then I retired into bed with a troubled heart, still pondering on when I last saw it so as to trace back my steps and have some success in the search.

I woke up the next morning………my mind immediately went to the issue of the day before, STARTING TO WORRY AGAIN .

Suddenly it was as if a light was switched on in my head…. I soliloquized, “Lord….I know you can see all things and you know all things, why don’t you show and direct me to where it is”

A peace and calm suddenly enveloped me and I went about my daily routine.

A few minutes passed, I felt the urge to organize some things on a shelf (one of those that I scattered day before but had immediately put in order soon after), low and behold……. There it was, sitting pretty …where I had already looked (I say, thoroughly!).

My soul spontaneously broke out in song ………….
“When we walk with the Lord
In the light of His Word,
WHAT A GLORY HE SHEDS ON OUR WAY;
While we do His good will,
He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.”

I realize once again that it is so comfortable and easy when we truly surrender ALL to our God to take FULL charge and total control of our lives but oftentimes we forget to do so even in dire need of DIVINE intervention and help.

We continue in our knowledge and intellect, trying striving relentlessly to find a way out but to no avail
Sometimes situations that can be avoided or harnessed get pretty bad before we remember Him , to cry out for help, the anguish and the cry of Hannah:

1 Samuel 1

8 Then Elkanah her husband said to her, “Hannah, why do you weep? Why do you not eat? And why is your heart grieved? Am I not better to you than ten sons?”
9 So Hannah arose after they had finished eating and drinking in Shiloh. Now Eli the priest was sitting on the seat by the doorpost of the tabernacle of the Lord. 10 And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed to the Lord and wept in anguish. 11 Then she made a vow and said, “O Lord of hosts, if You will indeed look on the affliction of Your maidservant and remember me, and not forget Your maidservant, but will give Your maidservant a male child, then I will give him to the Lord all the days of his life, and no razor shall come upon his head.”
12 And it happened, as she continued praying before the Lord, that Eli watched her mouth. 13 Now Hannah spoke in her heart; only her lips moved, but her voice was not heard. Therefore Eli thought she was drunk. 14 So Eli said to her, “How long will you be drunk? Put your wine away from you!”
15 But Hannah answered and said, “No, my lord, I am a woman of sorrowful spirit. I have drunk neither wine nor intoxicating drink, but have poured out my soul before the Lord. 16 “Do not consider your maidservant a wicked woman,for out of the abundance of my complaint and grief I have spoken until now.”
17 Then Eli answered and said, “Go in peace, and the God of Israel grant your petition which you have asked of Him.”
18 And she said, “Let your maidservant find favor in your sight.” So the woman went her way and ate, and her face was no longer sad.
19 Then they rose early in the morning and worshiped before the Lord, and returned and came to their house at Ramah. And Elkanah knew Hannah his wife, and the Lord remembered her. 20 So it came to pass in the process of time that Hannah conceived and bore a son, and called his name Samuel, saying, “Because I have asked for him from the Lord.”

He answers prayers. He is always near. He needs us to give due reverence in ALL our ways good or bad; He is pleased with our obedience and humble mien.
