Innocence met evil today.
How could this happen?
And to ones so young and innocent.
Gone is the innocence.
What in the world is going on?
What in the world went wrong?
This is not the first time it’s happened.
The seemingly innocent has suffered before.
We struggle to understand it.
We are bruised, enraged, and we mourn.
How do we make sense of it?
How do we go on living with it?
Adam and Eve gained knowledge.
They were introduced to evil as well.
Choosing to seek their own wisdom,
A choice they would later regret.
Evil is real…it has a face
And he came in the form of a serpent.
Our paradise has been lost.
A serpent more crafty than the beast of the field
Has led us on a quest to become wise like God.
We have made a most foolish decision.
Instead of enjoying what was “very good”.
We went after that which was clearly forbidden.
Suffering is not opposed to Glory.
It is the road to His eternal Glory.
We have been called for this purpose.
Since Christ also suffered for us,
He left us an example to follow.
He kept trusting in Him who judges righteously.
Sin and suffering does not slam the door on God’s blessings.
It opens the door for His grace to appear.
Satan was allowed to afflict Job.
Job grew more prosperous in the end
And a closer walk with God he enjoyed.
We need to wait for “the rest of the story”.
King Herod slaughtered thousands of infants
As he searched for the baby Jesus.
Hitler slaughtered six million Jews.
But we are not without Hope!
“I will turn their grief into gladness” says the Lord.
“I will give comfort and joy in place of sorrow”.
I saw a new Heaven and a new Earth.
The bride is being adorned for her husband.
The first Heaven and Earth will pass away.
I heard a loud voice from the throne.
The tabernacle of God will dwell among you.
There shall no longer be any death, mourning, crying, or pain.
He has shown me a river of the water of life.
It is clear as crystal coming from the throne of God.
On either side of the river is the tree of life.
The leaves of the tree are for the healing of all nations.
The curse will be gone and the Lamb will sit on His throne.
No longer will there be an night and God will shine on them.
We can triumphantly face our sufferings.
As Christ suffered infinitely for us.
He does this so we might have Eternal Life.
His Spirit is here to help us in our weakness.
For we do not know how we should pray.
His Spirit will intercede for us with inexpressible groanings.
Our Hope came in the birth of Jesus Christ.
The fullest meaning of our experience is found in Him.
Out of the chaos of violence and death,
A new age will pave the way for everlasting peace.
That new Covenant was sealed with Christ’s Blood.
The weeping of mothers for their children will be no more.
