You are sailing across your Sea of life.
All seems fine as far as you can see.
A great storm of winds then arises.
It brings waves that beat against you.
You have taken about as much as you can.
You wonder where God is.
God seems to be asleep on His pillow.
Does He not see the danger you’re in?
Does He not care that you are perishing?
You try to awaken Him.
You cry out His name.
He arises and rebukes the strong wind.
He says to the Sea, Peace, be still.
The wind ceases and there is a great calm.
He turns to you and says these words:
Why are you so fearful?
Why is it that you have no faith?
You are still very much afraid.
You ask yourself and others:
Who is He that the wind obeys.
Who is He that the Sea listens to Him.
God is asking you these questions:
Have I not been with you all this time?
Have you not seen all that I have done?
What will it take for you to believe?
When will you trust in what you can’t see?
Why is there still doubt and a spirit of fear?
When will you yield totally and completely to me?
