MUSIC IN THE RAIN
Whilst lounging in the afternoon
I hear a sweet refrain,
Of raindrops dancing merrily
Against my window pane.
A melody I’ve heard before
A great orchestral feat,
A graceful splash of tooted flute
A drizzle with a beat.
At times a crescendo building strong
Or continuing downpour,
With thunder as a drummer’s roll
Like in a drama score.
A flowing drenching serenade
Replenishing earth’s cup,
It fills and fills and fills still more
Then stops its surge abrupt.
I’ve gloried in this symphony
And nestled in its wane,
Twas the sound of raindrops dancing
Against my window pane.
