First, there are only two commandments to observe, Jesus broke the 10 down to two, Love God with all you have, including your heart, and LOVE your friends and enemies alike, like you love yourself. It's true, the world would be a better place if this were done. Considering, this great problem of a lukewarm church, and a people caught up in vanity (games, sports, etc.), let me explain, they, we missed it, just like the Jews did. They thought God wanted to live in a building made by man, forever. God wanted to live in man, make him HIS temple to live there forever. Jesus gave the true command of HIS Father, and ours, before HE left. Most christens did not get this, just like the Jews didn't get it. Jesus spoke this command (as King of Kings), located in Luke 24:49 "I will send forth upon you what My Father has promised; but remain in the city (your place) UNTIL you are clothed with power from on high! This was fulfilled in Acts 2 for Peter and John, but not us, until we do the same thing. This is the reason of the sorry state of the church. Man doing it mans way, not God's way. Jesus gave up HIS authority, when He became a man, He had, to have this power as well; He got it when He was dipped in the Jordan River. If He needed it, then so do we, but we have had wrong teaching on this, for our enemy knows what will happen if we live in this power, that is, we will rule, not him, so he has done his best to deceive the church into NOT receiving this "power from on high", therefore making us of no report, worthless, salt without distinction. But, of course it was our choice to be deceived, holding the truth of God in a lie! We got what we wanted, (a form of Godliness, but deigning the power there of), we deceived ourselves. These days, in our land, America, it has been ok to say that we are christen, WITHOUT EVIDENCE. Our evidence is that we walk, not in rebellion, but do what our Father said to do, in obedience. Luke 24:49 is a command, through chain of command, that we are to obey, without questions. Our Father, intended to put us over in life, like He did with His Son, but we did not receive it, we did not, because we believed, that we had enough knowledge, to make our own decisions. This is the same trick, that same serpent made to Adam and Eve, that serpent had satan in him. He said “you would be like god, in knowing both good and evil”, knowing that knowledge is just not enough to put you over in life. Especially, knowing he left out the most important point, OBEYING GOD. Also, this proverb; Proverbs1:7 “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise Wisdom, instruction and discipline”. So, we went our own way, and did not receive this power, but it’s still available today. If you are saved, by Jesus Christ, then receive HIS Holy Spirit today, right now, ask Jesus for it, it belongs to you.
