As I wrote in another article, based on the boundaries of Israel in Ezekiel 47, I am expecting Israel to invade Syria and extend her boundaries right past Damascus. As things continue to escalate in Syria as I write, we may not be too far away from this happening.
I also wonder if Saul's conversion on the road to Damascus and his sight being restored in Damascus aren't prophetic. I believe that God has chosen many Jews in Israel now for salvation. Could it be that He will open their eyes to Jesus as their Messiah once Israel possesses Damascus, perhaps even before the resurrection and rapture in 2023?
Here are a couple of other verses that suggest we are nearing the resurrection and rapture and the appearance of the Antichrist.
Micah 5:5b reads: "When the Assyrian invades our land, When he tramples on our citadels, Then we will raise against him Seven shepherds and eight leaders of men." I suspect that this is prophetic of 15 different prime ministers in Israel before the appearance of the Antichrist. One of the reasons that I believe this is that there were 15 deliverers or rulers in Israel after Joshua before King Saul, possessed by an evil spirit, a figure for the Antichrist, and then King David, a figure for King Jesus. This excludes Barak, since Deborah judged at that time, and includes Abimelech, even though he was an evil ruler. It also of course includes Eli and Samuel. Interestingly, Deborah was the fourth deliverer or ruler after Joshua, and Golda Meir was the fourth individual to be Prime Minister of Israel. There have been 12 individuals so far to have held that position.
Benjamin Netanyahu was the ninth individual to hold that position and he is currently in that position. Could he be the Benjamin referred to at the end of Obadiah 19: "And Benjamin will possess Gilead"? As above, Ezekiel 47, as well as Amos 1, suggests that Israel is going to possess Gilead, the East Bank, again. I will not be surprised if this happens under Benjamin Netanyahu.
