Oh, the purple robes of my soul.
Oedipus knew not
the keeper of his cradle.
I have done like the elephant
who never, never…
never what?
He returned, that boy –
now a man
eating slop with swine –
to his father’s table.
I have never been
home, first –
always here.
Will it be strange to Odysseus,
his journey’s end…
to return where he began?
I am on a pilgrimage,
the natural –
no! - supernatural -
Revelation…
I’ve always known.
In the deepest of my soul
I speak
that language.
I remember.
“Oh, Father,
when
can I come home?”
