Redemption, Resurrection, Prayer

We have been brought back to God by his Son, Christ Jesus through sacrifice and blood. We were brought back with the stripes He suffered that He did not deserve. We are a selfish people to think that redemption should be taken lightly. Etymologically the term, being derived from the Latin redimere, to buy back, or repurchase, signifies a commercial transaction, and insofar as the transaction is regulated by law, the legal way of obtaining ownership and consequently, legitimate possession. Jesus came to redeem Godís chosen people back to Him through the process of Salvation, Sanctification, Regeneration and Justification.

God is not prejudiced but Israel was his chosen people singled out to be the elect of God. They were Godís elect race, and especially on the ransom or atonement money which every Israelite was required to pay to the tabernacle. Itís most elevated meaning the term has acquired in connection with the work of Christ which would soon come.

Paul in Romans 3:24 lets us know that the redemption that is in Christ Jesus is a redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament. Then in Hebrew 9:15 that is under the covenant of the law into which God had entered with mankind at the creation. Through braking that covenant by sin men had become defaulters and forfeited life, liberty, happiness, and every blessing. They wer in a spiritual view, slaves under sin, held captive under sin by the righteous Judge of all the earth. Being hopelessly insolvent their liberation could be effected only by someone paying the necessary ransom for them. This task was assumed by the Son of God who is therefore represented throughout the Old Testament as the Redeemer of the human race.

Matthew 27:52-53 the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose and came out of the graves after his resurrection and went into the holy city and appeared unto many.

Romans 8:10-11 if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of him that raise up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raise up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies.by His Spirit that dwelleth in you.

The entire life of Christ was redemptive, ransoming value, particularly his innocent suffering and death. It is the price for which sinners were bought to be Godís own possession or chosen generation. This redemption of Christ is eternal according to the Apostle Paul in Hebrews 9:12 superior in all typical redemption of the Old Testament. This redemptive work of Christ once and for all reclaimed all those that were lost. We have that blessed hope as Job did that when the worms have eaten up this body we will still see God in the flesh. David said it like this in psalm 16:10 for thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. God redeemed the souls of man from the power of the grave that we be not swallowed up in death but have victory over death.

Resurrected means we shall live even when we are dead as we wait to arise with Christ. Daniel in Daniel 12:2 said many that sleep in the dust of earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting corruption. Redemption is here for us today, but it is up to us to walk in that resurrected power given us on the Cross of Christ. God promised the Prophet Hosea in Hosea 13:14 that He would ransom them from the power of the grave and God kept His Word! God is not the God of the dead but the living. Since by man came death God sent another man that would come and bring resurrection back to the dead. I Corinthians 15:20 for we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved we have a building of God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. We can one day stand and say like Jesus I am he that lives and was dead but behold I am alive for everlasting. People we have to know that if we were to die today that it will be in Christ that we may be resurrected with Him when He returns. We have to have that same hope Christ had toward God toward God. Resurrection is to the just as well the unjust.

When we have been resurrected and accepted Christ in our lives we must continue to grow in His Word and develop a relationship with God. We must reverence God as God and give Him proper honor where it is due. How do we do this? We start off with thanks for who He is and all that He is to us in our life. We develop a prayer life, communion with God which is where we offer to God petitions for mercies or blessings desired with thanksgiving and praise for those received. Prayer is oneís heartfelt soul desire for God. However as we grow in Christ, our prayers change. We no longer after a while pray personal prayers for our need but for the need of others. We make prayers of intercession when we pray for others. There is no particular time of day to do it for itís in the heart to do and after a while comes automatic because itís deep down in your soul.

If a man sin against another naturally the judge shall adjudicate the case, but if a man sin against God who shall entreat God on his behalf? In I Samuel 12:23 we find that there is a way that we should pray. Moreover as for me, God forbid that I should sin against the Lord in ceasing to pray for you; but I will teach you the good and right way. When Job was going through his experiences he found to when he pleaded for his friends that God delivered him. A righteous prayer life keeps our hearts upright before God. We are to pray for our nation, its leaders both spiritually and naturally. As we will continue in this way we think less of us and more of others; even those that hate you, use you, persecute you and say all manner of evil against you. We are to pray for the will of God be done and not our will. Pray God donít lay sin to another because they offend you. We are redeemed and resurrected now so we think life Christ our redeemer, our brother, and Lord.

We need to pray for the Holy Ghost that we may receive Him because He is our help. Pray for the salvation of the world and pray to make mention of them without ceasing. Our mission is to win souls for the kingdom of God and our desire should never leave us to pray for souls. Paul taught the church at Ephesus in Ephesians 6:18 that they and we to today should be praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints. He exhorted Timothy in I Timothy 2:1-2 that first of all supplication, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thank be made for all men; for kings and all that is in authority.

Now since we have been redeemed, is resurrected with Christ, we need to realize that the very God of peace sanctifies us wholly and our whole spirit and soul and body can be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. When everyone leaves us we can stand alone because we have that prayerful relationship with God and He never leaves us nor will he forsake us. Throughout the Bible we find man has always made intercession for man. Abraham interceded in prayer for Ismael in Genesis 17:18, for Sodom and Gomorrah in Genesis 18:23-33. In Ruth 2:12 Boaz interceded for Ruth. Daniel prayed for Israel and Judah in Daniel 9:3-23. Christ is both an advocate and intercessor for all according to I John 2:1. Not only does Christ make intercession of prayer for us; the Holy Spirit also prays intercession.

Itís time we get our Holy Ghost filled Sanctified selves up and show that we are the redeemed of the Lord. Man need to see Christ in us working and moving by His Spirit in every area of life. We need to show some kind of growth and not just being ordinary our Father and Amen Christians.

If you died today, are you absolutely certain that you would go to heaven? You can be! TRUST JESUS NOW
