Some folks say Jesus was born in a manger
Along,long time ago
And I believe without a doubt
That this is really so
I believe that holy angels
Sang to shepherds on a hillside that night
And over that little stable
A star was shining bright
Leading all who would follow on their way
To the place where baby Jesus lay
I believe there were wisemen
Looking for a sign
And they were so amazed at
How bright one star did shine
This they believed was the sign
They had been looking for
It was bringing them good news
Of the birth of the promised Savior
They made ready their caravan
And headed out into the night
Following after that wonerous star
With it's light shining so bright
Over mountains, through desert sands
They joyously journeyed on
Until they saw mother and child
And knew this must be the one
The Messiah that God had promised
One day he would send
Who was born in a stable
In the town of Bethlehem
When I close my eyes and think
Of how it must have been
That night there in that stable
In the town of Bethlehem
There's a joy comes sweeping o'er me
A peace I cannot impart
Like the joy and peace I felt
When at the altar there I knelt
And Jesus was born in my heart
