Matthew 10:29 Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. KJV
How many times do we notice a sparrow is falling to the ground? Have you ever heard one hit with a thud? I haven’t, that I can recall; and if I have, it must have been so insignificant at the time that I have forgotten. I would imagine that most have not witnessed an event as well...unless you’re an avid and concerned sparrow-watcher.
The point given of the value of sparrows simply put is that they aren’t worth much at all, to the human race that is. But to their Master, our Father, He considers them attention worthy enough to not only know when they fall, but he hears them falling to their death while in mid air before a thud can reverberate from the ground. He is so attentive to the least of these that He can hear their tiny heart when it stops pounding.
Matthew 10:30-31 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows. KJV
Because He cares and takes notice of the least of His precious creations, how much more so does He care for you? He cares enough to know the number of your hair each day, each hour, each minute. Multiply that by several trillion people or so!
Don’t think for one moment that He isn’t concerned when you fall to your knees in exasperation over things that concern you. He knows your heart and mind before the thud of your knees hit the ground.
Prayer: Thank you Father for loving me so much more than the little sparrows. I know that you are mindful of my every movement and thought. You have not taken your eyes off of me, and I know that everything that concerns me is of concern to you. I take my rest in you today with this praise of thanksgiving, knowing that before I show up, you have already been there waiting for me. Amen
