I fondly recall the excitement of Dad taking our family on rides during the holidays. He wanted us to see houses decorated with Christmas lights. It was an unhurried event. He drove in areas he had passed earlier, in going to and from his job as security guard for General Electric, Syracuse. He shared the beauty of dazzling lights.
“Life was in Him, and that life was the light of men. That light shines in the darkness, yet the darkness did not overcome it (John 1:4-5 HCS).” Christmas lights illuminate darkened neighborhoods. Set aside time for seasonal sightseeing. Meditate on the light of the Messiah; He expels spiritual darkness from within a wicked world.
