The Church and The Man
In my life as a Christian I have not only been associated with God, but man. I have been born again of the Spirit of God. I have been a help in the Ministry of Jesus Christ and the wife of man. I have worked in the ministry with many men and women. I have hit the streets of New Orleans and Baton Rouge and have met many people of many races and cultures. So many people do not realize that they are the Church. The Church I am talking about is; the body, the mind, the soul, the heart and the spirit. God This is the make-up of man and as God created and made man in the earth; so goes the Church of God in Jesus Christ. Jesus was peaceful but radical in the Word and prayer; there were friction between he and the leaders of the day. His and their lives contrasted.
Itís time we support the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We need to support the ministry that is touching the lives of man, not just touching their flesh. Jesus wants us to have ethics that will set a standard in the earth as was set in the beginning. It wasnít in Jesus plan to set forth a complete system of morals, but rather by His character and personality to create an ethical standard. There are today philosophers in this time as there were in his day and since that are careful to dissociate ethics from religion; Jesus bound moral and religious principles together. In presenting an outline, therefore, of His ethical teachings, it is impossible to leave out the doctrines of the kingdom of heaven, of divine grace and of religion.
The Old Testament furnishes us with most of the moral principles as it did Jesus when He walked the earth. He did not deviate from Godís Word, Order or Law and we today must not either. I was raised as a child in the African Methodist Episcopal Church and learned the moral laws of God very well. I was then born again and water Baptized in the Church of God in Christ. I was born again of the Spirit and came to know God in a more significant way as I consecrated myself and sat in the closet with the light on every night and sought Him out in His Word. Some sacrifices had to be made. I would listen to Gospel radio and television; especially Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and Reverend Shambach. My Pastor, Lloyd Nelson would always tell me that God said there was something special about me. I realized that I was flesh and Spirit; Spirit and flesh. I learned right then to put things in perspective.
I made a mistake one day as a growing Christian and have learned from it and still appear in the presence of the Lord. Had I allowed people to dictate who God is and what He should or should not tell me concerning his people I would not be saved today. My uncle, a Catholic on his dying bed called for me to come to his bedside to spend the night there at the hospital with him alone. He had been one of my greatest critics concerning salvation along with Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart. But that night he said he had a dream and he saw as he got to a lake; us on the other side and he had to get to the other side but that boy Frank didnít want him to go. That boy Frank was him in the flesh not wanting to come to Christ. He found out that he could not get to where Jesus was except he accepted Christ as Jimmy Swaggart had said. He said you are of my family and you are on the side with Christ and Jimmy Swaggart and you two are right, I am sorry. He wanted me to forgive him for the both of us; he had bashed the both of us as crazy. He had to accept Christ so he could live forever; he didnít want to burn in that pit of fire on the side of the lake. People he found out that as Evangelist Swaggart and myself had said, ďHell is realĒ. He saw it.
I had a husband and five sons to attend to also. That mean I had to wake up at four in the morning prepare breakfast for my husband before he went to work, wake the kids up at six thirty to feed them and prepare them for school and prepare dinner in the process since I chose to go to work away from the home. I cleaned my house in the morning before I went to work. I had a schedule of prayer and a short bible study with the kids before they went to school. Many would say how do you; do all that with a husband and five boys. Itís time we put some perspective in our lives that How we view things in life is very important; itís not what we do but how we do it that pleases God. God wants to be glorified and we must be sanctified. Our attitude is this; that we always want to please God that He gets the glory out of what we are doing or going to do. Look at how we see God, our outlook on a Christian life lived; a heart lived after Christ, an obedient spirit, a submitted body, and the mind of Christ. We are the church of Jesus Christ.
The church and the man, we are the church. We are to persuade, influence, induce, convince and cajole others to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, be saved, baptized, sanctified and filled with the Holy Ghost and seek out the fire of the Holy Ghost that will keep us, help us endure to the end and bring us before Christ that will bring us on to God the Father in heaven. If we are not being persuasive our belief in God is or has died. Itís time we check ourselves whether we be of Christ or not; whether Godís Spirit is alive in us or not. We must have a burning desire to see man fill his loins with all that God is and can be in them. What is our belief; our creed, tenet, religion, faith or conviction? Do we have influence in our walk among men that they would want to be saved and have God like we do? Thatís called inducing and enticement. We must be convincing that God is real; compelling men to come to Christ and potently endue themselves with power from on high to forcefully live a life of Christ in this present time.
Man, woman we are the church God created in the earth in the beginning, we are the buildings not made with hands. What God put in us is permanent, fixed, enduring, abiding, lasting, imperishable, persevering constantly continuing in the path God has set before us. Let God penetrate your psyche that he can saturate and fill us up with all that He is. Step back and allow Him to be the head of our lives, permit Him to be Lord of your life. Give him the permission needed to affirm us and set us at liberty with some continuity, durability and stability. God wants permanence to perform His work in us that He be represented as God and can bring us home again. We were tricked out of our original place but Jesus came that we might have life again and a life more abundantly than originally promised. We have the whole fullness of who God is; He wants obedience from man in His Word, in His Ways, Deed, and Order.
Satan has lied to the church and man perjuring himself with the little truth he knew of God. Now he has prevaricated himself to lie on Christ, falsified the baptism and completely lied on the communion Jesus set up in the earth. He wants us to perish, die a sinner, pass up heaven for hell departing earth to live there as the disobedient forever being punished with him and the disobedient angels kicked out of heaven with him. Itís time we be more of God, more like Christ Jesus, and less of men of the earth. Choose to be the church of God, in Christ; sanctified, holy and unmovable always abounding in the truth. Be original and revolutionary in His teachings as to create a new ethical world, enunciating great moral truths which will carry procreative virtue because we have made them our own, live them and is willing to die for them. Itís time we allow that true estimate of who Christ is in us to come alive to a dying world.
