When I consider the great and blessed heritage of the Christian world and how many loved it to even die for it as our dear Lord Jesus Christ, I take great pride in being a part of this blessedness, however when I also see them who do not live true to the name of a Christian and live not for Christ but for the world I also am grieved.
"of whom are the fathers and from whom, according to the flesh, Christ came, who is over all, the eternally blessed God. " Romans 9:5 (NKJV)
The great Apostle Paul argues wonderfully in Romans Chapter 9 about the wonderful privilege that Israel lost by rejecting God as the generations of the faithful that followed were no longer faithful to God.
Paul reminds them about the great and blessed fathers and also about Christ who was also born as an Israelite.
Could it be that we who often go to the church and would never miss even a meeting, could miss heaven at the end of our life's journey on this earth?
Could it be that we who know so much about God would finally end up not knowing God personally?
All is futile until Jesus Christ is in there..... our faith.....our church going......all our strained efforts or casual approaches to be a Christian would not give us anything unless we have Christ in everything we do.
Our prayers should be to Christ, our church going should be to meet Christ, as a Christian more than anything, we should have Christ in our life, even heaven is not a place we should desire without Christ, for eternal life is not just with Christ, eternal life is Christ and is in Christ.
My desire for you is just to check 'is Christ there in your Christian life? Is He pleased with what you are doing?' and if the answer is 'Yes', then we are truly blessed, we truly have eternal joy and if 'No' then we should know that our life is futile, we need to get Christ in as He is still waiting at the door of our hearts and knocking (Revelation 3:20).
"Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. " Revelation 3:20 (NKJV)
For if He is allowed in, we will surely have dinner with Him, and if we are missing our dinner, our peace and solace, then I believe He is still not yet in, open the door of your hearts to Christ and let Him in for your blessedness and His glory.
