"Sometimes God doesn't change your situation because He is trying to change your heart."
Maybe you have been praying that something in your life would change. Maybe it has been your prayer for many years. Truly, hope does spring eternal so I am not asking you to lay down your dreams. No, I am simply asking you to consider your motives. Will the prayer of your heart hinder your walk with Christ? Will it distract you from serving Him? Would your heart’s desire cause others to stumble? If you say “No” to these questions then maybe you just need to continue waiting on God to meet the desire of your heart.
However, If this prayer request of yours is simply a cry to ease your pain or that of another, I am not sure it is reason enough for God to answer it, or at least in the way you have imagined.
I think God has a purpose in every trial we experience. He is the ultimate teacher. He perfectly designs lessons that will speak to our individual hearts. We all seem to have the opportunity to learn the same lessons but through different means and circumstances. The way I learn obedience or unconditional love is different from the way you may learn it.
Maybe God is not allowing the circumstances in your life to change because He is trying to change your heart. Have you tried praying along these lines? ”Father, may Your will be my will. Grant me an obedient heart of faith so that I can accept the plans and path You have laid before me. Stir my heart to hear Your voice and to trust that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose. (Ro 8:28)
EZEKIEL 36:26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.
