If I were the morning dew
I would fall within your view
Glisten on your finger tips
My own way of wishing a good day.
If I were the mid-day breeze
I would fan you with the breath of heaven
Make you feel the draft of love
An air of happiness all around.
If I were the twilight candle
I would cast my light upon you
Shine with an affectionate glow
To mirror the intensity in your very eyes.
If I were the midnight sky
I would illumine with an azure light
A fluorescence of fanfare gloss
A fiesta of celebratory tinges.
If I were the falling rain
I would cascade in a sensational rhythm
Soft music to your ears
Relax your senses with a steady sound.
If I were the rainbow after the rain
I would flash my colors in the sky
A visible treat to your eyes
A greeting right from nature above.
If I were the silvery laced snowflake
I would softly brush your cheek
Give you a Christmassy feeling
Transport your mind into a winter land.
If I were a butterfly
I would linger with a gentle touch on your shoulder
Flap my wings in pure delight
Just to be in your great presence.
If I were a bird in flight
I would fly very close to you
Whisper sweet nothings into your ears
Never move out of your range.
If I were the twinkle in your eye
I would immerse myself in your gaze
In an eye to eye contact
A star always protected in your sight.
If I were a greeting card
I would commemorate a special occasion
Solemnize the day with hordes of rejoicing
Every moment filled with sweet content.
If I were the toast that you pledge
I would cheer you a pleasing compliment
Bubbles of sparkling nectar
A salutation to a remarkable life.
If I were a thought in your mind
I would refresh you in the midst of a busy day.
If I were a piece of your heart
I would throb with undying love.
If I were a part of your soul
I would be your soul mate everywhere you go.
If I were the answer to your prayer
I would kneel before The Holy One
And Thank Him for You!

I love it Maria. I could imagine each stanza sitting on a page in a book opposite an illustration or photograph that goes with it - maybe a children's book, but certainly a book of inspiration, or part of a selection of your poems. Keep it up. Read Ephesians 2:10 and substitute the word 'workmanship' with 'poem' - for workmanship in the Greek is the word poeme which is where we get our word poem. SO, YOU are a poem God is working on. Isn't that something to meditate on.
