Preparing for the battle of daily life
Ephesians 6 verses 10-13 (HCS). 10 Finally, be strengthened by the Lord and by His vast strength. 11 Put on the full armor of God so that you can stand against the tactics of the Devil. 12 For our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the world powers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavens.13 This is why you must take up the full armor of God, so that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having prepared everything, to take your stand.
Since the beginning of time Warriors have prepared for battle. In early times their armor was weak and usually made of leather. As the years went on armor was made out of metal, and now we have cavilar. No matter what their armor they still prepared for battle. Warriors would put the armor on in the right manor and check it for any weakness. They would then Sharpen their swords and knives, and then prepare themselves for battle mentally, physically and spiritually.
The word of God tells us that there is a battle going on in our lives every day, yet do we take the time to prepare. Do we take the time to check our armor for weakness, to sharpen our weapons, or do we just walk out into battle and hope that we walk away unharmed. We take time every day to prepare for events and challenges in our physical life, but it is the spiritual battle that goes on every day we are not prepared for and that is where our injuries have the most effect on our lives. So how do we stop it? How do we make that change so we can be ready for battle?
Ephesians 6 verses 14-17 (HCS). 14 Stand, therefore, with truth like a belt around your waist, righteousness like armor on your chest, 15 and your feet sandaled with readiness for the gospel of peace.16 In every situation take the shield of faith, and with it you will be able to extinguish the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is God's word. 18 With every prayer and request, pray at all times in the Spirit, and stay alert in this, with all perseverance and intercession for all the saints.
Truth like a belt around your waist; truth that Jesus came and died for your sins and lives today and He lives within.
Righteousness like armor on your chest; If you have given the Lord everything and you are following Him, then you are made righteous through our Lord.
Your feet sandaled with readiness for the gospel of peace; let peace overcome your life, if everything you do is filled with peace and love there is no room for rath or corruption.
In every situation take the shield of faith, and with it you will be able to extinguish the flaming arrows of the evil one. Faith comes by hearing His Word, the more time you spend in His word and communing with Him, the stronger and more powerful that shield will become.
The helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is God’s word; study his word daily this sharpens and strengthens your spirit.
Finally pray in the spirit; when you pray in the spirit, Satan and his demons cannot hear or understand so they have no information to use against you in battle.
You read this and it may seem like a lot of time to take out of your already hectic day, but takes less than thirty minutes. Take time each day to put on the full armor of God, you will see these every day attacks and problems will soon just fade away.
