We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. 2Corithians 4:8-10;
In the midst of troubles and critical situations, what the devil uses to nail the coffin of many people is to make them believe itís finished with them. If the devil succeeds in getting you to accept or conclude itís all over for you, he has completely won the battle against your life! One of the enemyís effective weapons employed against believers each time they find themselves in the midst of storms, troubles and trials of life is to make them forget completely that they have God on their side. Failure to see the Almighty God in the situation you find yourself has a way of magnifying your problem so much that you may be crushed under its heavy weight. The greatest defeat in life comes when a man cannot see God in his situation!
As long as the Almighty God is with you and youíre aware of His presence, no force on earth can defeat or destroy you! Your most valuable asset as a child of God is the presence of God! The assurance that God is right there with you in whatever situation you find yourself is the greatest comfort and security you can ever have in life. It is for this reason every believer must value the presence of God far and above all things in life. We must realize that each time we involve ourselves in sin and things that drive Godís presence away from our lives, weíre exposing ourselves to great danger, and the devil is always at alert to take advantage of such moments. What actually makes a man to be depressed and dejected is not the presence of troubles or fierce challenges, it is the absence of God! Is the Almighty God for you? Are you sure that Heís still on your side? As long as youíre sure God is with you, believe me, you will certainly come out of that situation horrible stronger, and better.
It must be emphasized that Godís presence in our lives does not altogether prevent us from going through difficulties and troubles of life, but it surely will keep us afloat and make us come out victorious from all storms always. The three Hebrew boys Ė Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were men who had courage to stand for God when others compromised and worshipped idols of gold put up by Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon. The stand of these men for God landed them into the fiery furnace though, but the Almighty God followed them right into that blazing furnace! It was actually the presence of the Almighty God in the furnace that changed the atmosphere completely; the roaring flame which was supposed to roast them to ashes only removed the ropes with which they were bound and also provided air-conditioner that refreshed them. According to Daniel 3: 27 fire had no power upon the men, not even one strand of hair on their heads was torched, neither was their coat changed, nor did the smell of fire pass on them! Such is the wonder of Godís presence! When the Almighty God is near, foes become friends, enemiesí arrows become useless, temptations lose their powers, pains lose their stings, and rages of fire are quenched!
If you have God you are not supposed to suffer the same fate with the world. Real trouble actually begins if your relationship with God becomes shaky. As long as God is with you and you too are aware of His presence, you will never lack anything in life, no force on earth can overcome you. It does not matter what youíve lost in life, if youíve not lost Godís presence, youíve lost nothing; it doesnít matter who has left you, if God has not left you, youíre not alone; it doesnít matter who has walked out of your life, if God has not walked out, your life will still be meaningful and beautiful, all you need is God and God alone! In the midst of pains, distresses and troubles, donít ever allow satan (note small letter) to make you feel itís over with you. His ploy always is to try to make you see nothing but hopelessness in your situations, but you must never permit him to go that far in your life. Remember Job? He lost everything Ė I donít know of anyone on earth who has experienced half of what Job went through, yet he held on to God, he never for once forgot that he still had God. Whatever situation you find yourself, always remember that you still have God. You may have lost your job, business, career, friends or loved ones, great opportunities, fame, valued relationship, marriage or even your health, and you think thereís nothing more that can make life worth living for you, remember that you still have God! God is more than able to restore in multiple folds all that youíve lost in life, if you trust and hold on to Him; He will fill your life with beauty and glory. The glory of the latter house shall be greater than the former-Remember ĖYOU STILL HAVE GOD!
