Job was special in that he trusted God for all things. We learn that through the experience he had with God, Satan, and man was a lesson learned for all of us. When we consider the pain and agony he faced from his friends, neighbors and others that just did not understand what he was going through we understand his wifeís stand that he should curse God and die. How many of us curse God and die at the first onset of trouble? She didnít consider that Job served God not for the things that he lost during this time but because Job actually loved God that he would obey Him even in death. These last few weeks has been filled with goings and doings of things that was not a part of my normal routine. I thought that when I was finished with someone I was finished. I have found out what true and real forgiveness is all about.
As I sat in a funeral on yesterday, I heard God speaking to me through my husband and he said ďMargery forgive my familyĒ for which I did. I didnít know I had encountered anything they had done that needed forgiveness. Whatever it was he said again ďMargery forgive my familyĒ. My husband had been deceased for eleven years and four months but I was wondering at his sisterís funeral what God was saying through him. They did not consider me or respect me as being his wife. What is spoken in the natural has a spiritual connotation to it also. I didnít murder my husband or have anything to do with him being murdered so what was he saying?
When Jesus told us in the model prayer to Matthew 6:9-13 he carried forgiveness a little farther afterwards in 14-15. We are to forgive others their thoughts, actions, and doings against us and against God. We must forgive those that sin against us and those that sin against God. Because they donít personally do something to us donít mean that they havenít sinned. The world needs forgiveness. Consider me, why not Lord, use my mouth to ask for the forgiveness of the natural family that has mistreated you? Consider me, why not Lord, use my mouth to ask for the forgiveness of the spiritual family that has mistreated God? Consider me, why not pray for forgiveness for those that have blasphemed against the President of the United States ignorantly? God did say we have a responsibility to the whole of the world. We are all family of one body and that is the body of Christ.
Our witness is on high, our record is on high; what have we done for Christ? Have we considered doing more for Him as He has done for us? Our lives is not our own; we belong to God. Thanks for His love. Down at the altar is where we are to pray, itís at the altar a spiritual change is made. The Father, the Word, and the Spirit they all agree; they all bear record in earth. Itís true; down at the altar, down on our knees we make a difference in this world. We need a more personal relationship with Christ that is not just in the Church house; we need to become the Church of Jesus Christ in our heart, mind, body, soul, and spirit. We need the heart of God, the mind of Christ, a body that obeys the Word, a soul that will live for eternity and a spirit that follows the Holy Spiritís lead from earth back to glory. We are one in Christ, one with God, and one in Spirit and itís time to realize that we are our brotherís keeper. How many times must we forgive? According to Jesus seventy times seventy; thatís a life time of forgiveness. I wish that all could be free as Jesus was but all will not be free. In St. John 8:32 Jesus said and ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free. We so many times refuse the truth; donít want to accept the truth so how can we be free? Father forgive; us our trespasses and forgive those that trespass against us whether it is be in deed or word.
When we fast we need to consider our ways. Do we fast for men or for nought? Many prayers are prayed with impure motives and intents. Many are prayed not from the innermost being where some intimacy with God is involved, in secret or in private but out in the open before men to be heard or seen. Consider our ways we arenít as innocent as we pretend. There is no honesty connected with us and God. Itís time to consider me; see if I am pure in my thoughts, unblemished in my actions, wholesome in my lifestyle, upright in my dealings with others, righteous before God and true to Christ. Am I the cause of men dying in sin? Am I guiltless of their sin? Are we that naÔve that we think we arenít the cause of much that goes on? Well we are not; consider me. We need some new innovation in our lives; some change, some newness, and some addition where Christ come in and the Spirit leads. We are not free from hurt, and afflictions but we are also not free from causing these either.
Consider me, contemplated, regard, think, and believe that what is important to you is important to God also. So why not what is important to Him a part of our resume? What is important to God is far more important to us then we think for this is our salvation and redemption to eternal life. Giving ourselves to the Word is of noteworthy importance; it is significant. Giving of our abundance to the use of God is substantial. When we kindly consider God in our thoughts, acts, and doings we are giving attention to eternal life. This is the life that Jesus gained for us in the redemption process to make the payment for sin on manís behalf.
What has happened to men that they donít want to be servants anymore but Fathers? There are many fathers but only one Father and thatís God Himself. There are those that go about killing the body of Christ unaware and souls are at stake. Men take matters into their own hands aborting the promises of God. They lean to their own understanding but God works against the grain of our thinking. We are not able to rely on our thoughts; our thoughts are after material things and we are never satisfied. We can accomplish things on this side of life as sinners. But to accomplish spiritual things in this life we need Godís Word and Spirit that causes change in us that moves us from the natural to the Spiritual. Without us changing us there will be no Spiritual resurrection. We were first spiritual, then natural. God created a spirit being male and female then he made man from the dust of the earth and separated the two and called them man and woman. Instructions were give them as spirit beings in the creation and were manifested in the made humans. The Spiritual being had no problem obeying, it was not until flesh was added and they were separated. In oneness is power; consider me says the Lord.
Menís accomplishment includes but is not limited to the things we can bring about to completion; but those that God make happen in our lives. It is God that gives men visions and provision to work the vision. Many men have succeeded in reaching the goals they set for ministry while others struggle. Does that mean they are better men? No. Should we look upon them as to what has been accomplished? We have a more crucial goal to meet and thatís to stand before God in holiness and righteousness and answer the call when it is made. God forgives men their sin but there is judgment that comes with that sin. The sin we are talking about today is the spirit of pride. Man has forgotten to consider that it is the Lord that has done these things and not we ourselves. Father forgive my family, forgive my church family, forgive me my transgressions and iniquities, forgive my brothers and sisters, forgive my co-workers, forgive those that sin against me, and forgive all those that forgive against my Father known and unknown.
