There's no greater honour and privilege than to be distinguished and chosen by God out of the sea of humanity, and then mandated to function in a certain capacity, just for His glory.
Now, the danger here is, we often think God chose us because of some very unique, special, and uncommon gift or merit we possess above everyone else in the whole world! I'm talking about our present or future roles as ministers, spouses, leaders, benefactors etc.
Soon, we initiate an insidious, subtle, and highly dangerous romantic affair with the false idea that nobody in the whole wide world can perform this task, look so adorable & wonderful, or tolerate such injustice, hardship, or persecution, etc, like us!
Never, ever consider yourself indispensable! don't ever buy that terrible lie from the Devil! Only God is indispensable.Remember this, He always has a competent substitute to take our place! God is too sharp, smart, and alert to completely trust our frail, fragile, and fickle disposition with His precise, perfect, and highly urgent eternal program!
Our substitutes for any divine role, assignment, or purpose are currently alive, well, and waiting! For humans, substitutes are usually alternatives and inferior, but not with God! His chosen substitutes are always superior to His rejected heroes!
We must never permit pride and conceit to blindfold us from appreciating, honouring and glorifying God for the rear and very great privilege of being chosen and then used to glorify the precious name of Jesus Christ here on earth. This is our only opportunity, we must never lose it or toy with it!
There's this subtle dangerous force, a spiritual plague that pull people down into darkness and doom called - Pride. This is a silent killer, a destiny destroyer that actually makes God your enemy! Beware, it's your real enemy! We need to come down in order to go up, we don't climb trees from the top. Pride makes us more like Satan than the saints we are. Needless to say, it depletes our spiritual power and effectiveness! Let's attack pride every day and time in our prayers, determined that nothing should pull us down in Jesus name, amen. Remember that God promotes the humble without limits. I know your promotion is due, congratulation! James 4:5-7; Proverbs 11:2; Proverbs 29:23.
Therefore, don't delay, disobey, or disappoint the King of kings and Lord of lords. If you missed it anywhere, confess that fault promptly to Him and be restored. Let's humble ourselves and please Him first by our absolute focus, faith, obedience, and enthusiasm. Give Him wholehearted thanks and praise regularly for the opportunity to serve God and humanity. Play your role promptly and effectively, Jesus Christ is coming back soon!
