Sunday 11-11-12 Pastor Michael sermon= My Secret Weapon-Overcoming Impending Danger Psalm 20:1-8

Every spy movie has secret agents that are doing things with no fear. They are often being chased by the enemy in their spy car. The enemy seems to be gaining on him and all of a sudden, James Bond 007, pushes a button and a machine gun pops out of the trunk!
He had a secret weapon.
In the scripture, David is realizing that even though he is a warrior, he cannot do all things. This is even though he is an experienced warrior. David had a secret weapon-God! The battle is the Lord’s! David knew he had to put God first as his secret weapon. We all have access to a secret weapon. We are all Christians in battle. This is a spiritual battle. David knew to win a physical battle he had to win the spiritual battle.
*****Secret Weapons David Used*****
1) Worship:
Verse 2 Help comes from the sanctuary. When David got ready for war, he went into worship. Worship is not a suggestion for us to do but a necessity for us. We are to worship to have an encounter with the one we worship-God! David knew he could not depend on conventional weapons. He needed the secret weapon-Worship! David says we must call on the name of Jehovah, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. God knows the end of our issues and how things will turn out good for us. We shouldn’t worry because God has ALL authority, ALL power! This is the God we call on when we get into trouble! Jehovah Jireh--my provider! Jehovah Rapha-my healer! When we get ready to almost lose our minds, we need to worship God and it will make the difference! We get ready to snap and God snaps us back!
2) Wisdom:
When you have the secret weapon, God will give you unconventional wisdom. The wisdom to get strategies to defeat the enemy. David would not have won all his battles without God giving him revelation on how to do things. This happens for the believer because we have the secret weapon-Worship! Worship gets us the directions and plans from God as to what to do. God wants us to get back all the enemy has stolen from us and get some of his stuff too! Praise God! Worship God! Get in touch with God to get the strategies to defeat the enemy and get back our stuff and more!! Get seven times more than before! Peace, Love, Joy and our stuff!! Worship and Praise God!!
