With You as my guide, I shall not fear.
Since You are for me, then who can stand against me.
Knowing this, its easy to get caught up in pride.
I know, because I'm guilty of it.
I can say, "I'm sorry," and/or "forgive me, please."
What use would it be though, if I continued doing the same thing?
I could say, "I repent for my sin," but what would it mean if I stayed on the same path?
Such has been my way of life.
I see now that true repentance means a change of heart.
Though I know this, it doesn't mean I can do it.
Especially, without You.
You give me the desire to want to change.
Control.....it's what I've struggled to hold on to all my life.
I'm ready to take another step forward.
I need Your help. I can't do this alone.
If it is Your will, here is my desire.
May Your will be done with it!
I trust You and where You're leading me.
Along with my desire, here, I'm giving You my will and placing it in Your hands.
If it is Your will, mold my will into Yours.
I believe now, Father, that I am here to do Your will.
You judge my thoughts,
You know my motives.
You've given me new life through baptism.
In which my faith has been strengthened.
Doubt no longer consumes me.
I've received answers that only You could give.
Therefore, all my questions, I bring to You.
This next step requires important lessons for me to learn.
There are some here who believe they are the ones to teach me the lesson.
I ask that You be as gentle with them as You have been with me.
I ask this in Jesus' name and I forgive them.
You are more to me than just my Father. You are my teacher
and I happily call myself Your student.
With my desire and will in Your hands,
I now proudly say, "school has officially begun!"
I know I've chosen the right teacher.
I shall give You every bit of my initiative.
I'm listening, Father.
Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty,
Who was, and is, and is to come.
