Mr. Bill Nye, I have been a teacher in the schools for years and have viewed many of your very entertaining science videos. On the subject of creation-evolution, however, you have crossed the line. You need to remain neutral on this. If Christians and other pro-creationists do not have the right to proclaim their side then you should not use your personal platform to air your position either.
With all due respect, sir, you are wrong in using your videos to push evolution to the impressionable minds in school classrooms. This violates both good education and your own scientific methodology. True education presents all sides of an issue with supporting evidence, so students can make intelligent and informed decisions. Is it not true that science works much the same way?
You made a ridiculous statement that students are being held back in science and math because of a belief in creationism. There are a multitude of reasons why this is so but a belief in creationism is not one of them. Don't make statements like that. You are a scientist, not an educator. Besides, public school students have been brainwashed with evolution for the last several decades.
Why are you telling students and parents that they need to believe evolution, as if it were the only way to believe? Have you ever personally studied creationism? If not, why not? There is much scientific evidence for it. Even some secular scientists believe in it. Also, some species cannot be explained by evolution. Check out organizations like the Institute for Creation Research.
Then I challenge you to give your heart and life to Jesus Christ. He loves you, died for you on a cross, and rose from the dead for you, that you might have eternal life, by His grace, apart from anything you can do.
