Blood Bought People
In a spirit of cooperation we meet,
All working to build up the body of Christ.
Where two or three are gathered in my name,
God tells us there he will be also.
We are members of God’s family.
Together we join in one voice.
Giving praise and glory to the one true God.
Accepting each other as Christ accepted us.
Each with the attitude of Christ for the other,
For even Christ did not please himself.
We have been of one heart and one mind.
Sharing all we have to help those in need.
Living in harmony with no divisions,
For Christ cannot be divided into pieces.
Harmony is as precious a gift as the fragrant oil.
It is as refreshing as the dew on Mt. Herman.
With tender hearts and humble minds
We have loved one another.
All receiving God’s approval because of our faith.
We have eaten together.
We have read scriptures together.
We have laughed together and cried.
We have grown spiritually together.
Accepting each other’s differing opinions,
Accepting each other’s differing expectations,
And even learning to forgive each other.
Christ calls us to be of one purpose.
He calls us to be of one belief.
He calls us to be of one conviction.
There is only one way to the father.
To this end we have supported one another,
And held each other accountable.
For we reflect his own beauty
To the watching world.
We are the joy of all the Earth to him.
For this church is not a building.
It is made up of people; the body of Christ.
The blood bought people of God.
For Christ did not give himself up for a place.
He gave himself up for his people.
For this is the reason we joined together
As one in the first place,
Because we are in total agreement
On the person of Jesus Christ our Lord.
